The Dolpa Trek is considered challenging. It involves long walking days, remote trails, and high mountain passes above 5,000 meters. Good physical fitness and proper acclimatization are required.

3.Do I need a special permit for Upper Dolpo?

Yes. Upper Dolpo is a restricted area. Trekkers need a Restricted Area Permit and a Shey Phoksundo National Park entry permit. A registered guide is mandatory.

4.What is the best time for the Dolpa Trek?

The best seasons are spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November). Since Dolpa lies in a rain shadow area, trekking is also possible during the monsoon season.

5. How long does the Dolpa Trek take?

Lower Dolpo usually takes 15–18 days, while Upper Dolpo can take 18–25 days depending on the itinerary.
